Connecting Threads to Goji

Threads is Meta's text-first network, and it is tied to Instagram: your Threads profile uses your Instagram identity. Connecting it to Goji means each new article is posted there with its headline and a link, without you opening the app.

What connecting Threads gives you

Before you start

You need a Threads profile, which means you need the Instagram account it was created from. Threads profiles cannot exist independently of Instagram — that is Meta's design, not a limitation here.

It is worth deciding in advance whether Threads should receive everything you publish. Because it is text-first, articles with strong headlines travel well, while purely visual posts tend to read as thin. Publishing rules let you send only some articles here.

How to connect it

1. Open Channels from the sidebar and choose Threads.
2. Sign in when prompted. You are signing in to Meta itself — Goji never sees your password.
3. Approve the permission to publish on your behalf.
4. You are returned to Goji with the profile connected and ready.

Publishing starts with the next article your rules pick up. Nothing already published is posted retroactively, which stops a new connection from flooding your profile with old material.

What a Threads post looks like

Posts carry the headline, a trimmed summary and the link. Where the article has a picture it is attached, though Threads treats text as the main event, so the words matter more here than the image does.

Threads applies its own length limit. Where a headline and summary together exceed it, the summary is trimmed first and the link is always kept — a post that lost its link would be worthless, whereas a shortened one still works.

If something goes wrong

• Sign-in failed or nothing connected. The account you signed in with has no Threads profile yet. Open the Threads app once, create the profile, and try again.
• Posting stopped after working for weeks. Meta access can lapse, most often after a password change or when permissions are revoked in your account settings. Run Check connection, then reconnect if it reports a problem.
• The post looks shorter than expected. It exceeded the length limit and was trimmed, keeping the link.

Common questions

Do I need Instagram connected as well? No. Threads is a separate channel here, even though it uses your Instagram identity.

Can I connect more than one profile? Yes. Connect the channel again while signed in to the other account.

Does it post replies or threads of posts? No — one post per article.

Does it use a channel slot? Yes. Unlike Instagram, which rides on its Facebook Page, Threads is counted as its own channel.
