Connecting YouTube to Goji

YouTube is a content source here, not a posting channel — Goji reads your channel and shares each new video to the social accounts you have connected. It does not upload to YouTube, and nothing in this guide changes anything on your channel.

There is no dedicated YouTube button, and that is deliberate rather than an omission: every YouTube channel already publishes a public feed of its uploads, and Goji reads it with the ordinary RSS source type. Nothing needs approving, and no Google sign-in is involved.

What connecting YouTube gives you

• Every new video announced. Upload to YouTube and the video is shared to your other channels automatically, with its title and a link.
• No second workflow. You keep publishing exactly as you do now; the sharing happens on its own.
• Wider reach per upload. Followers who never see YouTube's notifications still hear about the video where they actually are.
• Nothing to approve. The feed is public, so there is no application review and no developer account.

Before you start

You need two things: your channel ID, and a website already added and verified in your workspace, because a content source belongs to a website.

The channel ID is not the handle. A handle looks like @yourname; the ID is a longer string beginning UC. To find it, open your channel on YouTube, go to Settings → Advanced settings, and copy the channel ID shown there. It is also visible in your channel's URL when that URL contains /channel/.

Building the feed address

YouTube's upload feed follows one fixed pattern. Take your channel ID and put it at the end:

Open that address in a browser before going any further. If it shows a page of your recent videos, it is correct and Goji will be able to read it. If it shows an error, the channel ID is wrong — which is far easier to spot now than after wondering for a week why nothing has published.

How to add it

1. Open Auto Social → Websites and open your verified website.
2. Add a content source and choose the RSS type.
3. Paste the feed address you just tested.
4. Save. Goji reads it immediately, so you will know at once whether it can see your videos.

What happens next

Goji checks the feed periodically for videos it has not seen before, then publishes them to whichever channels your rules route them to. Videos that already existed when you connected are not shared retroactively — an established channel would otherwise post its whole back catalogue at once.

Each post carries the video title and the link. Social networks generate their own preview from a YouTube URL, so the thumbnail your viewers see is the one YouTube serves, and choosing a good thumbnail matters more than anything Goji sends.

If something goes wrong

• The feed shows an error in your browser. The channel ID is wrong. Use the ID beginning UC, not the @handle.
• Videos are found but nothing publishes. The source works but no rule routes it anywhere. Check your publishing rules include this website.
• Only recent videos appear. YouTube's feed carries only the latest uploads by design. That is the feed, not a fault.
• A private or unlisted video never appeared. Correct — the feed lists public uploads only, and Goji sees exactly what any visitor sees.
• Shorts are included and you did not want them. They appear in the same feed. Use a publishing rule to filter, or accept both.

Common questions

Can Goji upload videos to YouTube? No. It reads your channel; it never posts to it.

Does it need my Google password? No. The feed is public, so there is no sign-in at all.

Can I connect several channels? Yes — add one RSS source per channel feed.

Will it re-share a video if I edit the title? No. Videos already seen are not published again.

Does this work for a channel I do not own? Technically yes, since the feed is public — but sharing someone else's videos as your own posts is rarely what you want.
